PlayX Youtube Player For Gmod
[UPDATE August 2010:] A new version has been released 2.5 final, that now is much more stable, as it uses materials instead of 3D2D, this may also yield a performance boost, though I have yet to test such an idea.You can download it here: www.garrysmod.org This video shows the new Gmod youtube player, PlayX, written by sk89q, in action. It can display videos other than just standard youtube videos, such as .mp4, .mpg, .wmv, etc. It’s a really nice player and doesn’t seem to experience notable lag (it will bring overall game fps down, but the video itself runs pretty smooth). my playX stay whit white screnn why????
can anyone help me please when i start gmod i go to options (in server) i press play but for playX with screen all and link and when i hit start media but gmod crashes it says cant read memory or somthing? thanks
i know u can watch youtube in the toybox just search youtube (dot) com in the adress bar and choose what ever video u want and watch it

When I do it, it just shows up the title of the video in white letters on a black screen and more white text saying that it’s playing in low frame rate mode. But the video doesn’t play! Am I doing something wrong?
@SniperGabe96 yeah you need to go into your q menu, then your options tab, find the playx section in the options list, untick low frame rate or force low frame rate. hope this helped
Help it says “buffering playing buffering IDLE”
I really love this addon, but I do have a question. When I use it in my server some people can see and hear the player, but some can only hear it? Why is that?
@Vire70 I don’t believe the player has been updated since August 2010, so it may be conflicting with changes in Gmod since then. The only other possibility is some users not having the correct flash player required for the mod, or having inconsistent connections.

I just found something out about the Youtube players. Everyone probably knows this already, but you must have a legit copy of gmod or PlayX wont work, AT ALL.
